WEEKEND!!! Fri nite ~sat nite.... 6 & 7 Apr 07

wo yeah........ finally its the weekend... in korea ppl hang out n goes clubbin on Friday nite n sat nite... i heard frm a senior during orientation tat fri nite is the best nite for clubbin bcos u jus need to pay the cover charge for one pub n u can goes on n on to drink... bar hoppin i guess... hw does it happen or how n where i dun no.... haha as u knw i m nt a clubbin person.... bt jus tat is interestin to knw abt this...

anyway i was told tat the district area of our sch has gt alot of pubs etc so there r lots of youngsters hanging out there... yah lots of ang mos... etc too over here they will call such drinkin session "drink till death"in korean

on Fri evening, i met up wif Professor... so we went to Yangjae where his studio is. Over there we met his students (current trainees or professor-to-bes in future), erm... one kind of young looking... new faces... professor claimed tat every 2 yrs there will b a change hence they r all new faces... we were waitin for them to finish their work... its so cool to b a professor in korea cos u simply dun need to do anything, while waitin i can c the trainees r so busy n professor jus sit there instructin them... even writin an email is written by his trainee, whose name is call Paul. He is a korean frm New York. Prof met him 2 yrs ago n recommended tat he bcum his trainee to understudy him. So his english is quite well n we can converse in english.

Another trainee is called Hakki, he looked kind of young so i thought mayb he is in his early twenties bt to my surprize he is already 27 yrs old?!! oh my god... he dun look like... so must b the kimchi tat is doin them gd hahaha...

so after finishin their stuff, we went to have our dinner!! oh yesh my fav BBQ pork!!! its the same restaurant we came 2 yrs ago.... still the food is so delicious... oh yesh for the pass 1 wk i havent had REAL meat!! so i m really gobbling the pork!!! hahaha... of cos we had some soju n another kind of soju tat is only available in only seoul area.

I was wondering where is Prof's students we met 2 yrs ago so i asked him n he insisted on calling one of them (Daewon). After which to my surprize, Daewon insisted tat he came over to meet us. (In korea, they r weird they can jus rush over no matter where they r by simply receivin a phonecall?!). So after dinner we went to NoRaeBang -노래방(KTV). Not so new to me tis time as i had went to korean KTV b4. We had alot of fun n soon its 11 plus, so we suggested to go back hm... outside the no rae bang, we requested to take photographs... haha we had a hard time doin some self shots n even gettin someone to take for us... can u imagine at 11plus, who will be still walkin on the street...?? haha

so here we had some pics (self taken, set timer n by a student who sway sway walked past haha):

Sat nite: heyo me again... its the same entry as i tot its jus sm drinkin session over the weekends.... so tink i can summarize to inclue it in 1 entry....

so sat nite, we met up wif Kevin 씨 for a "drinkin" session... we met up at Sinchon district n went for our dinner. Kevin씨 brought us to a restaurant tat his friend recommended cos the restaurant he wanted to bring us to is crowded n had a long queue. So we went to a Korean-chinese fusion restaurant called Yoshi (오시). The ambience of this restaurant is really nice.... so we sat down n read the menu (gosh its all in korean.... ) Kevin 씨 insisted tat we practised our korean n try to read n order wat we want to eat.... we tired bt gave up.... haha... we took like almost half an hour jus readin n understand each n every item on the menu...

so Kevin 씨 order something on the chef's recommendation for us to share. So the dishes r prawn wif spring roll n the korean rice cake in spicy sauce (떡볶기). its really innovative, the chef actually had the shell of the prawn removed n wrapped wif chinese spring roll (fusion restaurant rmbr??!!) of cos wif lots of side dishes tat r refillable!! there is tis army snack (kevin 씨 recommended) tat tasted jus like tasty biscult in sg!! ehmm...有家的味道!!n a free on the house corn wif CHESSE! yummy!! n we were also introduced to the modern way of drinkin soju, soju cocktail !! We had both mango soju n kiwi soju!! yummy yummy!! nice nice.... (we had the old ppl soju on fri nite n youngster soju on sat nite). here r the pics of the food...

the restaurant is interestin cos on each table there is a service bell, u jus need to press on it n it will inform the waiter or waitress ... its really cool n its a VERY gd idea! if ever i m goin to open a restaurant in sg i will invest in tis man! its so cool.... n one more ting we noticed tat u can jus keep sittin in the restaurant for as long as u wan, the service staff wont 'çhase' us away... nt like in sg staff will keep clearin ur table so u will feel paiseh n make a move... haha... over here u can jus keep askin for top up for ur side dishes.... i had like 1 whole bowl of the biscults... haha...

we chatted, learnt the youngster korean slang frm Kevin씨 n we taught him our Singlish.. its really interesting... we had a great time even though we our very broken korean n his excellent english *shame on us*... haha ...

after which we bid goodbye n went back... cant stay for too late cos kevin 씨 still has his test tomorrow... haha... oppz.....

here r some more pics:
