It's my classmate, 까르띠까씨's wedding on 19 May.... 까르띠까씨 is an indonesian who met her husband in Indonesia... She invited us to her wedding as her family was not able to come to Korea (how sad...) bt its alright our whole class will b there for her...
So before that we went ard checking out what should we prepare before the wedding... wat kind of gift should we give, what we shld wear and anything to be expected of during the wedding...
Its somehow similar to wedding in sg, most people would jus give money *angbaoz* as gifts and smtimes if you are close wif the couples you can even ask wat they need... So before that me, Sueshi and Tomoe went shopping for the gift and bought the couple a bottle of red wine and 2 wine glasses... nice and presentable...
So next what should we wear? So we asked our teacher and she said normally guys in full suits and gals in dress etc and she reminded us once and again to b there early.... ok yah SHIT dreSS!! as all u guys knw DRESS is like nt in my dictionary... haha moreover I didnt bring my dress along also.... so how?! all I have r jeans n jeans! (ok who knws i goin to attend a wedding in KR?! n prepare a formal wear?!)
k nvm I was not the only one, 2 other classmates (guys) didnt have suit as well... So i jus said oh yeah i m a foreigner so i duno hahaha :P
So on tat day, we met like 2 hrs earlier and made our way there... we r nt bad okay... we found our way there!! its so cute when i c our whole class majority in business suits and dresses takin the subway..... yah its a common sight here in kr bt still i have tat singapore instinct that its tooooooo exaggerating to dress so formally takin the train... n yah we also transfer to a bus to the wedding location...
So we reached the place, its a traditional korea house apparently jus to hold wedding ceremony... we were early... we went in and were like aliens... oh yah cos we are multi-national... so all the aunties and uncles (mostly dressed in hanbok -korean traditional dresses) looked at us... we stepped in n spotted 까르띠까씨 in her traditonal korean wedding dress... so cutE! she was sittin in a sedan chair for the bride takin photos wif her husband.... she saw us and was really HAPPY.... the photographer even usher for us to go over to take photos wif her...
oh yah we were like tourists at a tourist location everyone so excited takin photos wif the bride and groom... haha so funny... i bet u gona tink that the sedan chairs are props for takin photos.... (bai sui only??) then u r wrong... there was actually ppl hired to carry the sedan chairs for the bride and groom!! its like a real wedding in the olden days.... so cute!
then as per like chinese customary wedding, 拜天地 etc.... I realised its so tiring for the kr bride cos she has to hold her hands high up during the ceremony... but all these r so excitin and new to us.... after the ceremony, its makan time!!!
Like in Sg, they also have buffet.... n gosh we are all extremely hungry!! bt out of respect, we let the elders queue first while we waited behind the queue.... n yesh after the long wait its finally our turn!! we took our plates and scoop up the 1st dish in front of us (salad).... commotion as usual as what we shld try n wat's tis, wat's tat...
Jus as we move onto the main dish, 까르띠까씨's father-in-law, came over and shouted: "까르띠까씨외 친구, 까르띠까씨외 친구! 사 진! 사진!" (kartika's friends, karitika's friends! photo! photo!) wif his hand wavin asking us to come... then we were all like "지금?!" (now) and he nodded his head...
hahhaa... we were like 好不容易等到我们可以拿食物了, then ask us go take photos?! can u imagine hw hungry we r as we met really early so all of us didnt had our breakfast and the ceremony lasted until ard 2plus?! haha.... so in a hurry we went over, put our plates on the table and went up to take photo..... After tat, the q is long again... we were like "oh shit queue again?!"
But i being so HUNGRY couldn't care less and said "不管了，我要插队！！我真得很饿，不可以等了"..... hahaha finally got our food and sat at our own table n feast it out... One of my classmate, lee yuan was so hungry that he ate his way at the buffet spread... hahaha (can u imagine hw hungry we were?!) chatting and takin photos (as usual) n went over to take sm drinks.... apparently we took like almost like 1 carton of beer to our table! yesh my classmates r cRazY!!
After the wedding ceremony, we made our way back hm.... n yesh its like mayb 3 plus... my classmates were like hey its still so early y nt let's go eslewhere?! i was like wat?! so early where u guys wan to go? n wat to do in the afternn?!
n i have to go cos i need to accompany them there....... so we went to a club in itaewon... music ok live dj spinnin bt wasnt tat gd.... 0_O
Lesson: If you dun wan a stranger to join u to dance dun look ard.... if u do so they will join in!!! so stay in ur gang dun anyhw look hahahaa....
