A trip to Seoulland on Korea's Independence Day

Korea's independence Day falls on 15 Aug 07 Wednesday.... (haha jus a week after Singapore's National day ah.....) Hence we have our public holiday!! hehehe!!

So Tiff and her classmates planned to visit the Seoul land. An amusement park where most visitors are koreans... A theme park unlike Lotteworld or Everland which are crowded by tourists..... However to the monsoon season, it had been raining continuously for 1 wk since 8 Aug.... hence we were really worry if we are able to enjoy ourselves at Seoul land...

On the very morning, we woke up and the sky were cloudy.... heng ah.... haha... Before going to Seoul land, me and tiff had decided to visit the temple near our house. To pray for our families in Singapore.... as something unfortunate had happened.... It so happen that the temple had some event and many devoted devotees were praying....

So after visiting the temple, we went to the meeting place to meet up with tiff's classmates.... N it started to drizzle abit.......... oh gosh!!! bt heck care we HAVE to go to Seoul land no matter what.... hehehe so off we went once everyone arrived...

Had our lunch at KFC and proceed to SEOUL LAND.... This amusement park is really weird... cos for most theme/amusement park you are mostly welcome by a BIG gate.... with music played in the background.... What we have here?? Nothing...no music and the gate for the amusement park is like 30mins away from where we arrive!?!! WE have to walk over in the HOT weather....... *SWEAT*

Soon we arrived at the entrance and were prepared to pay our admission tickets.... so off we went to the ticket booth and was told we can't buy it here as we are foreigners.... So i was like "huh?? what they mean?"

So off we went to the office we were directed.... after some commotion, the person told us the price and we were all SHOCK!! ITS 14,000 won ONLY! *Normal admission cost 28, 000won* We were all so happy.... haha we are really poor students man... just the price difference we can be SO HAPPY!

So off we went into the amusement park.... Went to the haunted house for our 1st stop.... haha witness Korean ghosts.... hahaha.... n went on to ride the longest coaster ride in Seoul and double loop etc thrilling rides....... but sad to comment they r nt as scary... if you had tried thrill rides in Universal Studios....

But even though its not so scary, we had lots of fun being together.... And gosh we went on a kiddy ride call the "Rock n Roll" and man that's scarier compared to those high roller coaster... haha.........

Had lots of fun and most important of all, the entrance fee is so CHEAP which make our day even more happier! ^_^ So marketers out that, STUDENTS ARE THE MOST PRICE SENSITIVE CONSUMERS IN THIS WORLD NO MATTER WHICH COUNTRIES THEY CAME FROM!!!

Pets lovers!!! Do your part, take the following survey!!

LTA is now conducting an online survey on "‘ALLOWING PETS IN MRT STATIONS/ TRAINS’"

So if you feel that you are also one of the owners who had faced difficulties bringing your pets around Singapore, its time you state your opinions.... Hopefully, in time to come pets are allowed on public transportation too... Of course I am logic, there must be some rules to it and of course provided that our pets do not cause a nuisance to other passengers.... but I just hope that the rules aint unreasonable.........

So now just a few mins of your time, do the test now. Click Here

Your little time can make a difference to your pet's life..... ^_^

Should he be given a red card to be send off the field??

During a soccer match, if the referee deemed the player as having played a foul he has no hesitation to bring out the red card to send him off the field.

So my question is, is it too harsh a punishment to send him off the field without having to listen to his explanations why he played it that way? Or from the player's point of view, he's not playing it wrongly... neither did he made a foul??

Is a red card too harsh a punishment for him? What if he slog his life and was practising everyday, showed his passion etc almost every other day. But a GRAVE mistake he made jus 10mins after the whistle blew in a MAJOR IMPORTANT match, he was sent off the field.... Is it being fair to him?

Okay, if you were to hear him explain n his reasoning was becos he wasnt feeling well and many other unfortunate things that happened around that made him unable to judge how he had behaved...He kept apologising and seems to be remorseful. HE dun seemed to do it intentionally.... But you wouldn't want to see another injury on the field.... What will you do??

If you know his reasoning and yet flash out the red card to send him off... are you being too cruel/unreasonable? Or you stand to ur principle and be firm, send him off the field and you'll never see him in the match again.... or perhaps be able to see him sitting on the bench with his sad eyes staring at the match without him....

Or would you give him a yellow card as warning? Or is it why a yellow card is there in the 1st place? Me? I dunno....perhaps give him a yellow card?

Boardgame Cafes -another culture in korea..

Have u heard of the Boardgame cafe? I dunno if its originated from korea? But I first heard of it from Korea.... so to me its originated frm korea hahaha....

It used to be very popular about the youngsters in Korea back 2 yrs.... Its so popular that you can basically find more than 10 boardgame cafes within an area... I went to one (owned by Shinhwa members -Minwoo n Hyesung) back 2 yrs when I was touring in Korea...

So now i m in Korea studying, I missed the fun at Boardgame cafe so we tried to hunt some down.... Were told that the trend of boardgame cafes had die down so many of the cafes had closed down so its nt so easy to find one....

We tried our best to ask around n hunt for them n finally hunt one down at Sinchon (the shopping district near our school).... so one fine NIGHT, me n tiff had nothing to do so we decided to pop by the boardgame cafe to play. Another reason is becos Tiff had never been to a boardgame cafe in korea.... CAlled up one of my ex-classmate who is apparently VERY BORED in the library.... so off we went to the boardgame cafe...

In the boardgame cafe, there are plenty of boardgames and card games which you can choose from.... so how do they charge? They charge by per hour usage per person.... so within that one hour if you find the game boring you can change it for another game....

As my friend is a china-chinese, we cant play most of the english game like scrabble, monopoly, cluedo etc.... so in the end we chose something really easy and international "JENGA"

Hahahah.... we were experts, we took out all the blocks that r left for us to take but still the JENGa stood tall.... haha... so in the end we have to restort to pulling out the main pillar to end the game....

Afterwhich, we played some monkey game which i still have not figure out how to play it correctly hahaha.... n of cos nt to forget some funny/silly hats we wore.....

THE HUNT FOR THE MALL CAFE -boardgame cafe owned by Minwoo & Hyesung

Yes, as mentioned earlier, my first visit to a boardgame cafe was The Mall Cafe owned by Minwoo and Hyesung... It was in Apujeong (high class shopping district in Seoul). We didnt knw the exact location of The Mall cafe back then so all we had was just trying our luck out at the shopping district.... n fortunately we spotted the cafe and went up to play.

So nw 2 yrs lata, Tiff said she wanna go to this cafe cos its owned by her husband "hyesung". Its all THANKS to this SOMEONE who 放我们的飞机 (>_<), resulting in us having to loiter the streets...... Have no choice but to go over to Apujeong like a headless fly hunting down the boardgame cafe.... We went in rounds n rounds at the shopping district... me trying very hard to recall what i had seen 2 yrs ago..... N jus as we were to give up we FOUND IT!!! went up...... most of the decorations were changed.... so i guess most probably minsung is no longer the owners here... bt still the posters remain with notes frm fans pinned all over the small noticeboard for SHINHWA members...

So here we played scrabble........never did i realise my english vocab so limited.... hahaha....

Its really nice to b in a boardgame cafe, cos its relaxing yet u can play games while chatting (so at least nt so boring) bt its on the expensive side.... of cos in the boardgame cafe, you can also find back ur childhood times........ like playing monopoly, scrabbles, UNO etc.... GAMES that you will definitely enjoy!!

So guys if you have a chance to visit Korea, do drop by the boardgame cafe here to have a short game.............

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:
You prefer to get to know a person very well before deciding whether you will commit to the relationship.

The seriousness of your love:
Your have very sensible tactics when approaching the opposite sex. In many ways people find your straightforwardness attractive, so you will find yourself with plenty of dates.

Your views on education:
Education is less important than the real world out there, away from the classroom. Deep inside you want to start working, earning money and living on your own.

The right job for you:
You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.

How do you view success:
You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous.

What are you most afraid of:
You are concerned about your image and the way others see you. This means that you try very hard to be accepted by other people. It's time for you to believe in who you are, not what you wear.

Who is your true self:
You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.
