SS501, PERFECT boy to man transition!!

Heard SS501's new song U R Man and saw their performances on TV. Wow a change in them, from little young boys who used to skip ard to mature man dressed in suit. OK if u see it in another view their flowery shirt looked like ah beng in Sg's context bt perhaps they are gd looking so I dun tink so instead I think they looked styling in them! hahaha!!

ITs such a pity that only 3 of SS501 members performed in the debut of this special album as the leader, my favourite Hyun Joong is busy filimin Meteor Garden (Krn version) and Jung Min is busy with the Grease muscial.
Sad that all of them are not in but i like the melody of this song and its dance!! PERFECTLY transition of the boys to MEN!!! Used to like only Hyun joong and Hyun jun from SS501 cos the rest looked so childish to me. But i must change my opinion of Yongsaeng and Kyu Jong. THey looked SO CHARMING in the MV n dance performance...

Here's their new mv and performance from Music core

Yet another touching and worth-watching military based movie of South Korea!

Was switching channels yesterday nite and happened to watch this GREAT military based story of South Korea called Silimdo (실미도). As there were no subtitles I dun really understand what these guys were talking about bt still feel that its a worth-watching movie so I went online to search for it. True enuff the plot of the story was interesting and was watching it at DAWN 2am today. Its a long movie 135mins bt definitely worth WATCHING!

If you are also interested in war type of movie then you should give it a try! Certain parts of the movie r based on true story while some are made up of. After watching this movie, you can really feel that some people r really SICK to the core and selfish to kill others/ eliminate to attain his/her own needs!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST, I salute TO ALL THE SOLDIERS out there who's fight for PEACE!!

A short synopsis of the movie:

January 1968, 31 members of North Korean Special Unit 124 infiltrated South Korea with the ultimate mission of assassinating President Park Chung-hee. In a retaliatory move, the South composed the Silmido Special Unit of dysfunctional social outcasts and criminals under death or life sentences. Their classified mission: explode the North Korean presidential palace and behead Kim Il-sung. They survive the most hellish inhumane ‘killing’ training and are reborn as human armories. However, the project is suddenly revoked and while the hellish training continues there is no more mission. The psychological frustration and physical tolerance start to reach their limits and soon the members start to lose their focus and unity. Then in 1970, with a growing peacemaking movement between the North and the South, the government decides to demolish the Unit and executes all its members ...

Interesting facts of this movie:

At the end of its run, the film was the most watched film ever in South Korea, and the first film to attract an audience of 10 million viewers in the country. The film Taegukgi later broke its record in 2004, and then The King and the Clown with additional 2 million in 2006.

The truth is that Special Unit 684 was not composed of criminal and outcasts.

Release date: 24 Dec 2003

You can watch it on crunchyroll HERE

A money-minded OWNER!

okay I cant stand it anymore so I guess I need to blog this to VENT my frustration!!!

I couldnt believe that someone can be so money-minded and heartless until meeting someone like her....... I dunno if i shld consider her a human-being?! Yah who is this non-living thing?

As the title states the owner, yes the owner of the boarding house i am stayin in right now... First i heard of not really nice stories about her and how she treated the students stayin in her boarding hse... but i dun really bother as i dun really get to see her neither am i going to step on her tail... but something she did recently make me disgusted and i really need to blog it to vent my frustration if nt i tink i will go mad here!!!

Firstly, I knw she is very money-minded cos stayin in this boarding hse for nearly 6 months, i have heard stories of her telling students not to eat too much during dinner, asking ppl why you havent pay up cos its already the date due for payment, collecting 10, 000won more from the china guy cos they eat more than the rest, charging high price to japanese (whom she deemed as high payers) etc.

First of all, our dinner spread is so SIMPLE and cheap that it wont cost much and moreover not everyone eats breakfast everyday so why shld she b so stingy telling ppl nt to eat too much?! I bet a meal would cost less than US$2?! She is already earning!! She have to charge the china ppl 10, 000won more simply becos she deduced that they r the big eaters.... But why didnt she reduce the rent for the other nationalities if they are small eaterS? Sometimes ppl r late for abt 1-2 days for payment, do she have to ask in a tone(n that want to slap her face facial expression) like we r nt paying her at all?! She never smiles when we greet her (instead shwing us the we-owned-her face), she only SMILE when she see you paying ur rent.

k, enuff of the small things above. Here's the BIG issue! Right now its winter time in Korea so its abt less than 10 degree in the day and may fall to below 5degree in the nite. Guess wat our 'LOVELY' owner did?

1st of all, she dun really on the heater in the hse. Even if she ons it, it abt 18degree?! When we complained that its too cold (esp. some of them had their windows facing the outside, its more cold due to the strong winds), she told them that she would only on the heater frm 6pm everyday. Which means there is no HEATER in the daytime!! So hw r we going to survive the cold winter which may drop to less than -5 degree?!

2ndly, we had decided since she dun wan to on the heater (which is under her control) we shld buy our own small heater to use in our room. Though the small heater may nt warm the whole room bt its gd enuff if you sit rite infrnt of it. Yeah, guess what that non-living ting suggest?! Just as i thought i can buy one cheap one, she went ard the hse putting up the notices that noone is to USE private heater in their room. Oh yah... So when i met her one day as i was having my dinner. I asked her why cant we use our private heater as she dun on the heater in the day time? Guess wat she said with her irritating face: 'WHY?!! OF cos you cant use it.... ITs so dangerous, it might burn down the hse.... ' Oh true, it will burn down the hse....

In my mind I was tinking didnt she knw that most of the heater had safety precaution built-in to prevent such fire hazards?! Fine, she left for her hm.... Me being so silly really thought that its becos of that reason. Few mins later she came back to the kitchen, I was so frustrated so i ignored her presence and guess wat she told me? 'Pls read the notice carefully, if you want to use ur own private heater in ur room its possible. You have to pay me 100, 000won as deposit' (which is equivalent to abt S$140) Then tat sentence finally knock senses into my head!!!!!!

DANGEROUS is not the reason, the main reason is that she WANTS to earn our money!!! She purposely shut the heater in the daytime, and put up those notices so tat we will pay her the deposits and in the end, she might tell u that her electricity bills went up cos u have been using the heater and confiscate ur so-called deposit. She's SICK isnt she???

FINE, i believed you might have the same tinking as me that u can secretly use the heater without her knwing rite? Bt i dun tink so...... Once her electricity bill went up i guess she might even order the aunite (hired to clean our hse) to open our rooms when we are not at hm to find if anyone is using the heater secretly. We cant do anything cos she has spare keys to all the rooms. Furthermore as chinese had said 寄人篱下, living under other's shelter, we cant do anything....

She is really a bloody f**king old MAID!!!!!!! Hw i wished i am more rich so i can throw my last rent (in coins) at her and tell her BYE, i m moving to somewhere esle better!!! I dun have the money so I HAVE to bear WITH HER FACE...... Maybe i shld do that on my last DAY of my stay! In the meanwhile I JUST try to avoid facing her frm today onwards to ward off the BAD luck...... I hope GOD knws abt it and will punish her for wat she did............ GOD PLS OPEN UR EYES!!!!

P.S I am trying my VERY best to use her ELECTRICITY, EAT as much as I can and uses more WATER.......... (bt i feel bad to the environment..... haiz)

Graduated frm level 3!!!

YO! Dearest friends and families!!!!!!

Here I am back in action blogging again. First of all an update on my studies, I have graduated frm level 3 from Sogang Korean Language institution. Scoring well.... better than what I expected. At least i scored much better in my oral!

Of cos of all being happy about the results, able to graduate level 3, able to proceed to level 4.... But in the same time, sad.... sad cos my friends will b returning to their homeland, sad becos i m left with another term (even though I m suppose to leave end of level 3, bt thanks to my supportive sister, I am continuing another term), sad becos the money in my bank is draining out...........

But been sad is nt a healthy ting.......So i told myself, its really lucky to be able to have a fun and experience life here in Korea. I shld cherish all the moments here instead of being so gloomy...... so here i m trying my best to be HAPPY. ^^

Nothin much abt my level 3 classmates cos we werent as close compared to my level 2 classmates..... Bt still there are some whom i would like to jot down in my memories...... (not as if i dun really bother or dun remember those whom i m nt going to write abt heheh)

Here are our class photos:

Shin wi (Taiwan)
A taiwanese gal whom I m totally amazed by her actions! She is also the one who made me changed my opinion of taiwanese gals........ She was so much younger than her exact age! I was totally stunned when she told me hw old she was!!! hehe... A fun party gal who speaks wats on her mind!

Suha (Japan borned Korean)
Our class monitor.... A very cute little boy who dun really knw hw to say 'no'.... bt looking at his facial expression you can tell it all....... A little boy who wants to be a big MAN! haha ><>

Adrian (Australia)
A future-to-be lawyer. He's going England to work next year. BRIGHT future! A rather serious guy who dun really talk nor smile in class. But when drinkin he talks alot haha... guess alcohol make a person shows his/her true colors... He speaks japanese too and knw wat he LOVE singlish and watched UNDER ONE ROOF! He is also the 1st ever aussie i knew who dun really joke nor smile... As you knw aussie are famous for being FRIENDLY!

Jeff (USA, Hawaii)
A big guy from Hawaii... A sunny guy just like where he is from... Always with his okley sunglasses.... Everyone loves that shades!! All i could remember was when he 1st came into our classroom with his luggage. He was not in sch most of the time cos he was always travelling ard (as he is on a sponsorship frm his university).

Sujin (American borned korean)
A cute big sister frm New york! Her encounter with her pilot boyfriend is really amazing! They met each other on the street of Itaewon! hahah She's really tall! She worked in the fashion industry too...... Interesting job isnt it?

Korea International Fireworks Festival 2008

yoyoy... its a YR already! I still remember squeezin thru the human jam at Yeoinaru subway station rushing to watch the Annual Korea International Fireworks Festival. If you need some recap just go back to my past entries to view those clips I posted last yr.

YEs, its A YR already and fortunately I am back in Korea to watch this event again. This yr we tried to go there early as the lesson learnt frm last yr... bt due to some stupid mistake I made, we were aGAIN late there............ yah the stupid mistake simply been me mixing the event date and the day of the event. Confused?! haha... let me further explain the event is on 4 Oct which is supposed to be a Sat, but me being so stupid read my calender (lookin at the month Sep) and thought the event was on Sun instead.

So made all my arrangements with friends etc on Sun instead. WHo knws my level 2 teacher smsed me and wished me a nice evening at the fireworks show.... which STARTLED me?! SAT???? I went online to check out again and found that its really SAT which IS TODAY!!!!

So i went mad calling my friend....... Bt some cant make it as its too sudden a change of date as they have some other tings planned. I thought maybe this time round I cant watch it..... So lastly I tried my luck on Tiff (whom I thought shld b workin tat day) and she picked up my phone sounded like she just came back frm dreamland..... I was so happy tat i was practically screaming askin her where she is and whether she wants to watch the fireworks show?

A very quick yes frm her and we set off to Yeoinaru. I guessed the subway station is fully packed so the subway didnt stop at Yeoinaru and went to Mapo instead which is a BRIDGe across.... So we have to cross the bridge on foot.....

Luckily we found a better spot (compared to the last time) despite the CROWD.... really enjoyed the show... though its quite disappointing as the Japan team was not here this time round and it seems shorter as compared to last yr. Nevertheless, havin a beta view make all this disappointment disappeared.... ITS really BEAUTIFUL watching the fireworks just above your head!

Here are some photos we took.... so much better compared to wat we took last year. Not too sure if its a better view that made the differences or our phototaking skills IMPROVED??? hahaha!!! ENJOY!!!

*Uploading the video but i guess its too big so its having prb...... Once I have successfully uploaded it online then i will post it here*

Trip to Chuncheon (27 Sep 08)

HOHOHO!! Sorry for not updating the blog for almost a month!

WOw time flies........ Its one month already.... and its almost to the end of Year 2008... It was like a dream... I still remember back then when I just return back to Sg, hunt for the HIGHEST pay part time job I COULD, worked in XXX company, earned my living expense for my coming Kr trip, back to Kr, started lessons in the new sch, meeting new friends etc........ Now its almost the end of the YEAR!!!!!!!!!!

By the way, Junwoo brought me to Chuncheon on 27 Sep 08 (a place that Winter Sonata -hit drama of Korea was shot) Its a town nearby to Seoul just about 1 and a half hour bus ride, sort of like a weekend getaway trip.... Anyway who cares TRAVELLING for me is gd enough anything out of SEOUL is consider TRAVELLING hahahaa.... (no fish prawn also ok lah)

There wasnt much to do in Chuncheon as the waterfalls etc required more travelling time and car hence we went to a nearby isle by Ferry. The island is a vacation island for the locals (sort of like a camp site, chalet etc). The size of the island is about the same as Kusu Island.... So we went over via ferry.... The interesting thing is as this is a vacation island for the locals you dun spot any tourists there... so I am the ONE and ONLY tourist there!!! HAhaAHA.... Get to see how the locals have their 'holiday spend'

Went cycling on the island, took pics etc. Went by the riverside (some how like the Han river) and took eVEN more pics... There's nothing much to do except takin photos hahaa... and went to the street also named MyeongDong to have our dinner Takkrabi (Chicken Ribs?!) as Chuncheon is famous for that.... But was kind of disappointed with it cos I felt that the one in Sinchon (where I stayed in) has better taste Takkrabi!!!! hahaha.......... but anyway ppl say if u visit Chuncheon you have to have it so I am HAVING it! hahaha

Enuff of my craps.... here are the photos.........

So now I have already started my 3rd Level.... yah which also meant that my time in KOrea are counting too.... T_T

k the purpose of writing this entry is not to boast abt graduatin level 2 bt to introduce my classmates and teachers frm this class...... OF all the classes that I have been in so far... this is my fav class....... Though we are all from different countries, speak different languages, different ages, different professionals we jus clickED! and man its the most ENJOYABLE class I have ever had in my life so faR!!! So here let me introduce my friends here....

Akemi sshi, the eldest in our class. She is in love with Kim Rae Won and tats the main reason why she is studying korean. I really respect her for her hardworking and learning attitute. She is also very cute and bubbly... by the way, all thanks to her, I was interviewed by the Korean TV station (some post below)

Shiro oppa, a cute and funny Japanese guy in our class. He just married his kr wife this yr... He had lots of interesting working experience (music cds purchaser, animator for PS games). Always says "ai-i-shii" when we called him ajo-sshi....

Aretangkere sshi, a mongolian gal who had been teaching in a Mongol university for 8 yrs decided to come to korea to attend the graduate sch. Hardworking and always been introducing us Mongol culture..... By the way, we had a difficult time rememberin Mongolian names too....

Narenmatahun (absent on graduation day), a cute young guy from Mongol. Extremely tall 180cm bt acts like a little boy... Always smiling wif his small eyes... Ask him about Mongol culture and stuff he and Aretangkere sshi both gave us diffferent answer... ??? hahaha

Yukako sshi, a femine sweet Japanese lady from Kobe. Married to a Kr guy and living wif the parent-in-laws.... Heard interesting stories frm her with regards to her mother-in-law. >_<

Kaziko sshi, a Japanese gal who had extremely unique taste for guy.... always asking us opinion of guy whom the majority would think is "weird"

Bairang, a funny, energentic guy frm China.... (erm.. forgotten which city) His dream is to become one of the famous director in China.... Always speaking with a chinese accent KOREAN.... He starts speaking chinese instead of korea when he gets nervous....

Howard (the guy in green), an american from Hiolo (erm... dunno where is it nor knw hw to spell). Taught english in Korea last yr and fall in luv with Korea. So he decided to brush up his korean. A funny guy with alot of facial expressions.... We always joke that he n our teacher r a couple....

Liang juan (the gal behind me), a frank and cute gal from China, Szechun. Cooked extremely delicious Szechun delicacies........ LUV SPICy food..... She has a loud voice, you can even heard her 3 classrooms away... haha Love shoppin and does MILK mask when she is free...

Wu Qian, an innocent little boy frm China, Qilin. Always looking sleepy in class... The reason being having war with the mosquitoes in his rm every nite. Always very blur in class, always answerin negatively to all the questions poses to him from our genki teacher.

Ti-an, a vietnam gal who migrated to the US. Living in Boston now. A cute little young gal who nv fail to smile everyday in class. Love to read and you can definitely spot her holding a storybk in her hand whenever you meet up with her. She is also the first person I met who told me tat her family are one of the last batch of illegal migrates frm vietnam via boat into US. Her childhood was mainly onboard the boat.....

Yoon (AKA Jessica). A bubbly American borned Korean young gal from US, OHIO. Tanned and luv to play tennis.... You can hear her laughters before you enter the classroom. She is always laughing...

Our very GENKI teacher, Na Kyoung Hi (teaches Korean oral speakin). Always joking and speaking like a bullet in class. All thanks to her our lessons were not boring and instead we all look forward to meeting each other every Mon.

Last bt not least, our listening & reading teacher, Kim Ji Yoon. A typical Korean gal who is soft spoken. She went to Taiwan to study for 2 yrs hence she speaks fluent mandarin. A cute teacher who always tempt us wif sweets and chocolates if we score full marks for our homework or quiz. Dun b surprize THIS WORKED on us!!!! hahaha
Ah......... REALLY missed the days when we studied together........

Busan Trip (28 Aug - 30 Aug 08)

yo yo yo sorry for those who have been reading my blog........... hehe havent been updating recently.... not being very busy but just being pure lazy........ heheeh >_<

ok let me briefly touched on my FIRST travelling outside of SEOUL!! oh yah FINALLY having lived here for abt a yr (return to sg n back) finally finally I went travelling! AND I meant out of SEOUL, to another city in KOREA!!! oh yah if u have been chatting wif me you will know the sad experiences i had whenever i planned to travel out of seoul....... seems like I am cURSed or wat....

But this time for REAL, I TRAVELLED OUT of SEOUL! all thanks to my lovely sister, who was in Korea for work purposes. She paid for my trip to Busan too.... TATS why i said I LUV my sis!!! hahahaha though it may not be a luxury holiday, its better than nothing!

We went to Busan by bus....... Took us about 4 hr 30 mins (ok lah shorter than travelling to Malacca I tink). WEnt to Beomosa Temple, Hot spring area, Haeeundae Beach, Seomyung Station, Bocheon Museum, Busan Fortress, Busan Museum and UN War memorial. OK I believed youngsters out there might think that these places r very boring bt mind you, I luv history so visiting museums r one of my favourite places...... Esp. when you learn more abt hw the ppl lived in the olden days..........

Wat shocked me most of all in Busan is that, though being the 2nd busiest and biggest city in KOrea its totally different from Seoul......... For the 1st nite, I was totally shocked in the area where I could hardly spot any teenagers on the street......... (its quite scary to me).... The beaches turned into dead city once the sun goes down.... No one chillin out at the nearby pubs etc (guess its bcos the summer vacations had ended??) I dunno its still a quite rural compared to Seoul.... I guess i am too much a CITY kid thats y!! bt its really an experience for me out of Seoul.... Nothing special there besides having a beach (as a singaporean its nothin special cos we see beach so often... bt to friends who hardly can see beaches in their country i believed they might find Busan interesting) Furthermore, we did not visit the well-known fish ports too... Dunno if we missed out anything interesting there bt fish ports dun interest me at all....... all I can tink of is the fishy smelllll................ >_<

Had a lot of fun besides the weird surroundings.... I actually went BACKpacking....... yah wif a big haversack.... oh bad it hurts... n its really funny... cos in the mornin i m all energetic bt by evening my battery ran flat......... haha i guess thats wat u mean by no stamina....
So here are some photos we took............

I am on KOREA TV!! hahaha.... (#^^#)

WEnt for Jo Hyun Jae's last fan meeting before he went into the army on 19 Jul 08. Finally I gt to meet up with him face-to-face in person!! Jo Hyun Jae oppa is really SO HANDSOME!!! Especially his beautiful eyes........ its as if they could talk........ Just like how handsome he appeared in the Korea drama... HE is what he is from TV (ah in case u knw wat i m tokin abt... cos some actor/actress appeared different frm what u c on TV and in person) Bt for Hyun Jae oppa, he's the same.... Just that he had lost some weight............. But still as charismatic....

Was so excited cause I had really wanted to meet up with him in person..... FINALLY i got this chance....... bt its rather sad cause he will be entering the army (in fact he had entered the army on 5 Aug) We wont be able to see his excellent tears moving acting for another 2 yrs..... Bt still we will WAIT for his return........

It was a rainy day on 19 Jul, bt this didnt stop the fans frm meeting Hyun Jae oppa... abt 150 fans frm Japan flew into Korea to attend the fan meeting... While some fans frm China, HK, Taiwan, Thailand also flew in.... Of cause me as the Singapore representative hahaha....

Anyway, its a nice and touching fan meeting..... Hyunjae oppa was singing his last song when his eyes were filled wif tears........... oh my............. Cant stand it.... I like guys who cry.... hahah Lastly, went on stage to shake hands wif him... I told him to take care in the army and we'll wait for his return (in korean) and he was kind of shocked to hear me in korean... hahahah >_<

Wish him all the best in his army days!! and of cos will wait for him to return!! Hopefully to c another blockbuster drama of his when he return! By then, TAKE CARE oppa!!!

Here's 2 clips of the entertainment news of Jo Hyun Jae's last fan meeting.... I was interviewed all thanks to my friend who keep asking the cameraman to interview me?!!! haiz.......

A touching story..... meaningful....

One day a teacher asked her students to list the names of the other students in the room on two sheets of paper, leaving a space between each name.

Then she told them to think of the nicest thing they could say about each of their classmates and write it down.

It took the remainder of the class period to finish their assignment, and as the students left the room, each one handed in the papers.

That Saturday, the teacher wrote down the name of each student on a separate sheet of paper, and listed what everyone else had said about that individual.

On Monday she gave each student his or her list. Before long, the entire class was smiling. 'Really?' she heard whispered. 'I never knew that I meant anything to anyone!' and, 'I didn't know others liked me so much,' were most of the comments.

No one ever mentioned those papers in class again. She never knew if they discussed them after class or with their parents, but it didn't matter.. The exercise had accomplished its purpose. The students were happy with themselves and one another. That group of students moved on.

Several years later, one of the students was killed in VietNam and his teacher attended the funeral of that special student. She had never seen a serviceman in a military coffin before. He looked so handsome, so mature..

The church was packed with his friends. One by one those who loved him took a last walk by the coffin. The teacher was the last one to bless the coffin.

As she stood there, one of the soldiers who acted as pallbearer came up to her. 'Were you Mark's math teacher?' he asked. She nodded: 'yes.' Then he said: 'Mark talked about you a lot.'

After the funeral, most of Mark's former classmates went together to a luncheon. Mark's mother and father were there, obviously waiting to speak with his teacher.

'We want to show you something,' his father said, taking a wallet out of his pocket 'They found this on Mark when he was killed. We thought you might recognize it.'

Opening the billfold, he carefully removed two worn pieces of notebook paper that had obviously been taped, folded and refolded many times. The teacher knew without looking that the papers were the ones on which she had listed all the good things each of Mark's classmates had said about him.

'Thank you so much for doing that,' Mark's mother said. 'As you can see, Mark treasured it.'

All of Mark's former classmates started to gather around. Charlie smiled rather sheepishly and said, 'I still have my list. It's in the top drawer of my desk at home.'

Chuck's wife said, 'Chuck asked me to put his in our wedding album.'

'I have mine too,' Marilyn said. 'It's in my diary'

Then Vicki, another classmate, reached into her pocketbook, took out her wallet and showed her worn and frazzled list to the group. 'I carry this with me at all times,' Vicki said and without batting an eyelash, she continued: 'I think we all saved our lists'

That's when the teacher finally sat down and cried. She cried for Mark and for all his friends who would never see him again.

The density of people in society is so thick that we forget that life will end one day. And we don't know when that one day will be.

So please, tell the people you love and care for, that they are special and important. Tell them, before it is too late.

Everland Summer Splash! (21 June 08)

YO YO!! Watched the TV program "WE are married", Andy and Solbi went to the Everland together........ Both of them sat the 'T Express', seemed fun so I told Junwoo that let's visit the Everland too......Everything seems fine and well planned and wat happen? The weather forecast said its going to rain on 21 Jun 08......... *oh my nt my trip out of Seoul be down the drain again?*

So the nite before Junwoo confirmed that he dun have to work so we can go to Everland as he promised to.. But i told him the bad news abt the rain coming tomorrow....... Guess wat he said? 'Its okay, we can visit sheltered areas when its raining and once its sunny we can take the rides...'

Thanks to that.... WE went to Everland and man its only drizzling... luckily i didnt cancel the trip .... hahaa....... ITs really full of obstacles.... First in the morning, we went to the bus stop at Kangnam to take the Express bus...... Guess wat?! there's over hundred people waiting in the queue...... We waited for more than an hr and Junwoo suggested that we take a bus to his neighbourhood and frm there transfer to another bus...... PErhaps that's faster than waiting over there........

And after all the obstacles (long waits, hot day) we finally arrived at Everland.... The sky's bit grey so the friendly staff at the entrance told us to hop onto the amusement rides 1st as its might b raining soon........ So we have to rush in like MAD! hahhaa........

We to the 1st roller coaster that I didnt ride on the other time when I visited Everland..... its okay.... then hop on to the next ride... To our surprise, there wasnt any queue at the amusement rides........ (perhaps its summer hence everyone went to the CArribean bay instead of Everland)

WE hopped on and off the thrill rides...... FINALLY to the T-Express that I wanted to sit........

MAn its was really HIGH!!!!! it didnt appear to be so scary from the TV!!!! But I said I wanted to try so no choice had to go on....... hahah.......... as usual SCREAMIN the HELL out...... bt its fun!

After that we had our lunch and went around taking photos at the flower garden.... Watch the Summer Splash Parade.... ITs really nice! Cos its summer so the parade teams had water guns which they aimed at audience....... haha its fun and coolin!!! This is the 1st time I watched the parade in the daytime... ITs nice and fun! I guess that's wat an amusement park needed mosT a parade that changes periodically so that visitors who visit the park before can have sometime new to see........ Sad to say its lacking in Singapore's attractions.......

Next after a VERY exciting and thrilling afternoon, we slowed down towards the evening, strolling around, went on for some relaxing game... Junwoo had a game at the shooting game, missed the target so I couldnt have my husky doggy... :( But to our surprise while standing in frnt of the store discussing where to go next....... A doggy softtoy fall off frm the display?! hahha!! There was no one around so the staff from the other side walked over and took the soft toy and gave it to me thinking that Junwoo shot that!!! hahahaha !!! After that we visited the Safari park and saw this baby white tigger which is only 2 months old! Its so CUTE!!!!! hw I wished I can carry it home....... Junwoo was knocking on the window panel of the baby tigger and it reacts to him... standing up.... and clumsily fall down... hahah sO CUTE!!!!!!
Though I cant carry that real white bb tigger back... at least I have myself a white bb tigger softtoy.......

Here are the photos of the CUTE white tigger........

Went picnic with my classmates (20 Jun 08)

yoyyo... sorry for nt updating this blog........

not being very busy bt just being lazy... hahah so today i am going to try my best to write all the happenings since the last update till now...... bt dun worry there's lots of photos... hahah

first of all, let me start with my 2nd Level class outing on 20 June 08. At Sogang Language institution, they organised outing once in the term for the classes.... Different level will visit different places for their picnic....... So ours happened to b at somewhere like a Botanic garden... somewhere outside of Seoul at the rural area... (So happy when I was told the venue, cos I have always wanted to visit the rural area of Korea but never have a chance)

Its really fun all thanks to our teacher who is very hyper and joyous.... Of cos we have fun and loving classmates too...... This make our class so much fun to be with compared to the rest of the classes! We were told to bring our own lunch boxes..... But our teacher prepared and brought alot of food..... Our lunch was the most sumptuous... We had wine, fruits, Szechun Fried Rice, Japanese Inari etc.... YUMMY.......

yummy food......

cheers!!!

We had our lunch and after that had a little game....... It was really fun and I really enjoyed the times we had together...... After the picnic, some of us including our GENKI teacher went to KTV........ YEAH KTV........

welcome to my concerT! hahha

Carried on our gathering and they heard my concert (SOLO).... WE sang for nearly 2 hrs afterwhich we went for dinner at my FAVOURITE BBQ PORK restaurant!!!

IT was a tiring yet FUN and enjoyable DAY! I would say this class is my favourite class so far...... Cause we have fun classmates and caring teacher! So lucky!!!

COFFEE PRINCE CAFE: the korean cafe culture

hohoho... photos to show........

as a crazy kpop fan, how can i miss any chance to visit a place that appeared in the Most POPULAR Coffee Prince Drama last year in Korea?!!! So I meet up with Manami had our lunch together was chatting and she said she would bring me to the Coffee Prince cafe that she found....

OF COS without a second thought I SAID OK!!!!! so off we went... the cafe is located just a subway station from where I am staying ........ bt the way to the cafe from the subway is really confusing haha........ we have to go through a few alleys........ bt anyway Manami knws the way so its fine......

Finally arrived at the Cafe............ Nice ambience, quiet.... and lots of merchandise from the drama........ guess its another gimmick to earn money HAHAH!!! bt anyway fall in to the trap jolly well knwing it... haha....... bt i only DRINK A greentea latte...... hahah

so here's some photos..........bt sad to say its a PRINCE cafe bt there's only 1 waiter and the rest are all WAITRESSES............ if u watch the Cofffee prince drama you will understand what I am saying heheh.... >_<

Latte art........

photos taken frm the drama...

wall drawing by the actress in the drama.......

the one and only Coffee Prince MENU!!!

my greentea latte......

Next a little more about the Korean cafe culture....... First of all if you love theme restaurant, beautiful interiors etc u would DEFINITELY love the Korean cafe culture..... its really very beautiful........ over here ppl are willingly to spend money on the design of their cafe....... there r also LOTS of theme cafe here and they r really very very beautiful!! they have cosy sofas that u wouldnt want to leave tat seat........ the ambience is also so cosy n nice that u feel that u can stay there for hrs..........

There r also theme cafes like Princess cafes where the waiters (only WAITERS) r gd looking and serve as though you are the QUEEN... hahaa.... there r also tarot card reading cafes that r very popular among the youngsters in Korea.... There r cafes with swings as seats etc...... There's simply too many to describe... so if u have a chance to visit Korea do try out the theme cafes..... if i do came across any unique designed cafe I will take lots of photos and posted them here... I PRomised!

Sometimes i really wonder if these cafes r making money??? cos ppl jus sit there for long hrs.... hw to recover the expenses? bt its really wonderful if i can own such a cafe..... wow.... DREAMING........... hahaa

Search for my boarding hse

heheh.... sorry its backdated again...

am too lazy to blog so havent been updating the blog so far.... >_<

okay now let me fill you in with my search of the boarding house (also known as hasook in korean). For those who dunno what a boarding house is, its simply a place where students stayed in during their studies, a normal boarding house in korea provides 2 meals (breakfast and dinner), some boarding house includes internet, washing machine, television, odol. Student normally stayed alone in a room (probably slightly smaller then a room in HDB for a average pricing boarding hse)

So here I arrived on the first day, I called up Ah Han to surprize him... hahah HE WAS indeed surprized and we met up for lunch as he had to work in the afternoon. After having lunch, I went off to search for my boarding hse... Firstly, I went to where my present school was and started scouting the neighbour for signboards that has the word "Hasook" written on them. Found a few, tried calling bt none of them picked up the calls...... So I have no choice but to widen my search to somewhere near the Sinchon subway station. So I went up the hill (nt so steep heheh)

I found a few called and went house to house to view the available rooms. Soon I found this boarding hse that is quite clean and comfortable. Most important of all, the auntie was quite friendly. The 1st room I view was big bt not as clean, the 2nd room I view was really gd with windows that was facing outside (in case you didnt know koreans do have weird designs with window facing right at a wall) and a 3rd room, clean but with window facing the main door.

I was in a dilemma to choose between the 2nd and 3rd room cause they cost a difference of S$30. Oh yah just S$30?!! haha.... and the end I decided to choose the cheaper room with the window facing the main door. Though its window doesnt have a nice view, I guess its fine for me as long as there's a window..... (in case you didnt know there r also rooms situated right in the middle of the building with small windows high on top.... and I really cant stay in such a room)

So I paid a deposit and would be moving in on Wed. The room is located on the 1st floor (chose it purposely) so I dun need to have a hard time carrying my luggages up the stairs....... By the way, its also cheaper to stay on the ground floor... ITs even cheaper if you are staying in the basement but as I said I cant stay in a room without windows... ITs like staying in a cell....

My room costs me about S$455 per month, with 2 meals provided everyday (breakfast & dinner), a television, internet connection, washing machine, fan, bed with pillow, mattresses and blanket, study desk, cupboard, a common toliet with only 2 other koreans to share with. Most important of all I have a place (on the top floor) to dry my laundry out in the sun (hahaha I tell you this is so IMPORTANT to me! I need the sun to kill the germs on my clothes......)

As compared to the boarding house I used to stay in this is much expensive but I am now staying alone, with my own television and they provided me with pillow, mattresses and blanket....... But the rest was quite satisfying especially the location as it is near to the subway and heart of the shopping district yet not as noisy.... I feel so lucky to have found this boarding house....... So let me know present my humble little space to you........

my room number... No. 103

my bed with a mirror

My television with the clothes stand

my study desk and book shelf with the window that's facing the main door

my cupboard

LAst bt not least, I am really satisfied to found a nice cosy place on my own.... As least my korean come into handy and man I STILL remember how to communicate in korean hahaha.... >_<

Psychological Test: I am a cookiecutter shark

hahaha... i dun even knw the existence of a cookiecutter SHARK! bt the name sounded so cute........... ^_^ did a search bt the pic turned out to be just like any other normal shark....

Such a cute name, but you pack a punch! Whether you’re using your sharp teeth to cut out perfectly circular plugs from the flesh of whales and other large marine animals or just hanging out with friends, your adorable looks and sweet demeanor hide a real go-getter.

Journey back to dreamland, Seoul (25-26 May)

heyo!! DEAREST FAMILIES AND FRIENDS,

thanks to all for the rush meeting last week, thanks to all for the little farewell gifts, sorry to those whom I didnt have a chance to meet up before I leave for the dreamland..... hahah..... >_<

I guess I was old and experienced enough so I told my families and friends nt to send me off... anyway its only another 6 mnths more n we'll meet again.... So off i went alone with the FOREVER big and heavy luggage (the gift frm ex-sentosians, still survivin well). Believed me I didnt packed alot of things bt the luggage itself weighs 6kg?!!! But luckily I got my luggage weightage increased so it wasnt much of a worry....... (i shld nt elaborate hw i get thru to get it increase hahhaaha)

So off i went check-in my luggages.... Thanks to my past experience, I brought along a backpack and its really come in handy... I put in some clothes to share the weight of the luggage and have it conveniently carried behind me... nt so messy like i used to be... After through the customs, i still have sometime so I went shopping for sm chocolates for my friends.... I thought chocolates were cheaper there then in the stores.... bt i was wrong it wasnt bt anyway there r more varieties of special chocolates and they do have promotions too...

a friend of mine LOVE toblerone WHITE chocolate very much so i decided to buy him the GIANT TOBLERONE.... haha which IS AMAZING nt available in KOREA! so bought other chocolates wif liquor contained... guess its more special then any other chocolates in korea.... sad to say nothing frm sg... unless i were to buy the merlion chocolate... hahah

The flight was cool.... me being alone... was just alright... watched some movies and fall asleep... the plane was really weird... its pretty warm in it.... i wonder if e pilot on the warmer or something?! its the 1st time i ever experience ..... As usual I chose an aisle seat... so i have 2 other passengers with me on my left... they r 2 young korean boys... playing wif their PSPs......
they r very cute... i guess they r on the flight on their own cos the air stewardesses were very attentive to them asking them as n when whether they r okay... I guess becos they r little kids so i can understand what their conversations are......... (^_^)Y

Landed in Incheon International Airport safely on 26 May, 7.30am. The pilot wasnt that gd cos I can feel the air pressure in my head... abt to burst my blood vessel!!!!!! Anyway.... went through the customs... dilly-dally... taking my own sweet time... as I have all the time....... guess i was the only one that was strolling in the customs..... ppl just rushed for their luggages, run for the queues etc....I guess this shld b the way if u r going on holiday... R.E.L.A.X! (hey r u guilty of being one like them?! hahaha i used to be)

Went out of the customs... went all ard to find an atm machine so i could withdraw some krn won frm my krn bank account... went high n low findin the KEB (Korean Exchange Bank) atm.. I shld say the directory in the airport wasnt tat gd... I have a difficult time findin it... bt anyway i found it....
Withdrawn the money and went upstairs for my airport shuttle bus.... Yes... hop onto the bus tat will bring me to Ewhwa University street.... Alight frm there and went out to find a motel..... Bcos of my heavy luggages I have no choice bt to settle in one tat has an elevator... ERm.... u must be wondering y wasnt there anyone pickin me up at the airport?? Cos i didnt inform anyone I was arrivin... In fact I told my friends I was arriving in June.... heheh... WHY cos I wana surprize them and i dunno i dun really like to bother ppl.... so this prove I CAN DO it MYSELF!!!!!

Settled down and called my friends one by one to inform them i am BACK! hahah... everyone was totally STUNNED and surprize....... Met up with Ah Han for lunch and gave him the giant toblerone... He was so happy with tat GIANT toblerone, I'm glad i gt the correct gift! :) Had a little chat and he is off for his work.......

After that I went ard searching for boarding hse..... Went ard the district of my current language sch bt failed to find boarding hse... so I have no choice bt to shift my search to somewhere in the Sinchon district.... WEnt through a few boarding hse and was evaluating the cost, condition of the room, accessibility, boarding hse owners etc..... haha given my past experience I believed I became more choosy.... I just wished that I can b as lucky as before to find a nice boarding hse with nice owner.......

Luckily I found one with a reasonable price, clean, big room with accessiblilty to the subway and is abt 15 mins walk to sch... no steep slopes etc... haha if u have visited kr b4 u shld knw tat their hses r all built on steep slopes...... EXTREME steep slopes.............

WEnt back to the motel to have some rest after a whole afternn of travelling here and there searchin for my boardin hse...... Am I really luckily or is it becos of my experience.... it seems to be so much easier..... guess being able to communicate in krn really aid alot!

Goodbye Ah gong.......

He left us on 29 Apr 2008, 6plus in the mornin.....

He decided to leave us.... perhaps he had seen everyone.....

Its really touching and heartbreaking when I saw how ah ma can recognise ah gong in the coffin.... is this wat we call love?

like they say "till death we part"

kind of grateful for ah ma to be sick... so she wont remember wat is going on.....

for she wont remember ah gong had left us....

for she would still think that ah gong is working......

for she can live a happier life nt remembering the saddness....

Ah gong, thanks for opening your eyes to see me for the last time when I called out to you in the hospital.... thanks for giving me the last chance......

Like wat sis said, we did our best while he's alive and we shld have no regrets....

and tat's the most important......

Ah gong, you will always be missed........
