First of all if you love theme restaurant, beautiful interiors etc u would DEFINITELY love the Korean cafe culture..... its really very beautiful........ over here ppl are willingly to spend money on the design of their cafe....... there r also LOTS of theme cafe here and they r really very very beautiful!! they have cosy sofas that u wouldnt want to leave tat seat........ the ambience is also so cosy n nice that u feel that u can stay there for hrs..........

There r also theme cafes like Princess cafes where the waiters (only WAITERS) r gd looking and serve as though you are the QUEEN... hahaa.... there r also tarot card reading cafes that r very popular among the youngsters in Korea.... There r cafes with swings as seats etc...... There's simply too many to describe... so if u have a chance to visit Korea do try out the theme cafes..... if i do came across any unique designed cafe I will take lots of photos and posted them here... Search for my boarding hse

heheh.... sorry its backdated again...

am too lazy to blog so havent been updating the blog so far.... >_<

okay now let me fill you in with my search of the boarding house (also known as hasook in korean). For those who dunno what a boarding house is, its simply a place where students stayed in during their studies, a normal boarding house in korea provides 2 meals (breakfast and dinner), some boarding house includes internet, washing machine, television, odol. Student normally stayed alone in a room (probably slightly smaller then a room in HDB for a average pricing boarding hse)

So here I arrived on the first day, I called up Ah Han to surprize him... hahah HE WAS indeed surprized and we met up for lunch as he had to work in the afternoon. After having lunch, I went off to search for my boarding hse... Firstly, I went to where my present school was and started scouting the neighbour for signboards that has the word "Hasook" written on them. Found a few, tried calling bt none of them picked up the calls...... So I have no choice but to widen my search to somewhere near the Sinchon subway station. So I went up the hill (nt so steep heheh)

I found a few called and went house to house to view the available rooms. Soon I found this boarding hse that is quite clean and comfortable. Most important of all, the auntie was quite friendly. The 1st room I view was big bt not as clean, the 2nd room I view was really gd with windows that was facing outside (in case you didnt know koreans do have weird designs with window facing right at a wall) and a 3rd room, clean but with window facing the main door.

I was in a dilemma to choose between the 2nd and 3rd room cause they cost a difference of S$30. Oh yah just S$30?!! haha.... and the end I decided to choose the cheaper room with the window facing the main door. Though its window doesnt have a nice view, I guess its fine for me as long as there's a window..... (in case you didnt know there r also rooms situated right in the middle of the building with small windows high on top.... and I really cant stay in such a room)

So I paid a deposit and would be moving in on Wed. The room is located on the 1st floor (chose it purposely) so I dun need to have a hard time carrying my luggages up the stairs....... By the way, its also cheaper to stay on the ground floor... ITs even cheaper if you are staying in the basement but as I said I cant stay in a room without windows... ITs like staying in a cell....

My room costs me about S$455 per month, with 2 meals provided everyday (breakfast & dinner), a television, internet connection, washing machine, fan, bed with pillow, mattresses and blanket, study desk, cupboard, a common toliet with only 2 other koreans to share with. Most important of all I have a place (on the top floor) to dry my laundry out in the sun (hahaha I tell you this is so IMPORTANT to me! I need the sun to kill the germs on my clothes......)

As compared to the boarding house I used to stay in this is much expensive but I am now staying alone, with my own television and they provided me with pillow, mattresses and blanket....... But the rest was quite satisfying especially the location as it is near to the subway and heart of the shopping district yet not as noisy.... I feel so lucky to have found this boarding house....... So let me know present my humble little space to you........

my room number... No. 103

my bed with a mirror

My television with the clothes stand

my study desk and book shelf with the window that's facing the main door

my cupboard

LAst bt not least, I am really satisfied to found a nice cosy place on my own.... As least my korean come into handy and man I STILL remember how to communicate in korean hahaha.... >_<
