The new environment.........

erm....... its always not easy to adapt fast in a new environment....

Its the end of 2nd wk, I becoming more and more involved in the projects......

So far am still finding it fun and interesting.... Went for a site recce at a construction site, wearing helmet and safety vest... Its really interesting to be one of the 1st few to step on the site before the general public can catch a glimpse of the area! Besides I have never been in a construction site b4....

New Colleagues
Colleagues are basically nice people bt still find them weird....

They are not close to each other at all... perhaps they r jus colleagues or u can say makan khakis.... nt like what we used to have in Sentosa.... (or are we the weird ones in Sentosa to be so close???) or perhaps they are still unfamilar with each other since this division is still so young.... and you know people come and go in this division (erm.... though nt a gd ting to knw)

Can you imagine, they can queue up individually even though they maybe ordering the same stall in a food centre?????? I cant understand this part?? Cant they consolidate and order while someone look after the seats?? I dun understand this parT?? Then if you help to pay for their food/drink, they will pay you back IMMEDIATELY.......EXACT dollars n cents...... Dun understand, cant understand

Of cos the ratio of girls are more than guys so I believe gossips are still very normal.... heheheh ^^ Lots of negative feedbacks....... I guess this is wat they said in HR term staff unsatisfactory.............

Boss

Erm... didnt really interact much bt heard alot of nt so gd news.....(i knw i shldnt rely on other sources to judge my boss so I am still seeing for myself). My boss, one who wont treat workers to meal and even claim money from the staff after a meal?!!!!! Inspects the staff every morning to make sure they are at their seats on time.... You are expected to come in ON TIME and leave LATE....... ??? I was always shocked by the loud voice even though our boss is jus infront of us talking......... and the usual "U do, u go n tink about it" kind of instructions tat leaves people going crazy....... n after you TINK your way out and report, the answer u got is "I tink its better this way.... do it this way....."

Smtimes it ponders me to tink of myself in my boss position.... its not easy for BOSS too....sometimes I pity BOSS too... that's y i tink i can only work for ppl cos i would rather be among the people than be alone on top of people.... anyway let's see how it work out between us and hopefully its a better one.........

Office surroundings

Even though we dun have the lush of GREENery and sunny beaches like on Sentosa. I am so loving the area where I worked cos there are cheap and nice food EVERYWHERE!! We can practically go to different food centre on each day from Mon - Fri. The train station is also within walking distance and its a straight train from my hse too!!! +++ so many pts!!!!!!

I am seated far from my division bt am still enjoying the space...... its abt the space that KC used to have in Sentosa!! Will be even more happy after moving to the new office as I will have new furniture and seated together with my other colleagues.... I am seated nw among architects etc...... COOL rite?! and everyday i can heard them discussing to put trees here n there hahaha....

But the pantry and restrooms are so FAR away and they dun provide me tea or coffee... though this amazing scene of an auntie who come by in the mornin and during tea breaks to 'laylong' coffee,tea, snacks with a bell......... *COOL??*

Pros

oh... love the working hrs...... got to leave for hm 1/2 hr earlier on Fri.... the computer monitor is so BIG!!!!!!!!! and best of all, they are still using the old version of microsoft hahahah which I deem as plus pts cos I hate the newer version which is so nt user-friendly..... ^^

Cons

Can you imagine 900 plus staff using only 1 old color printer cum scanner which always break down?!!!!!!! 4 officers are to share 1 telephone! and do you know I happened to spot this table with a telephone that was USED by my grandfather last time in 1980s?!!! I wonder how they can transfer call with that?! Thats really AMAZING isnt it?? Older staff are going SLOW very sLOW............ CULTURE shock! This really ponders me tat we are so SUPER pamper in Sentosa even though we are suppose to be a semi-stat board ^^

Everything is going well and smooth and I hope it goes on for as long as I hope to.... still keepin my finger crossed.

PIGGIES have a great yr in TIGER YEAR!!!!!! *ROARS*

HOHOHO!!! Tiger year is a GOOD YEAR for PIGGIES!!!!!

Piggies will have great progress in their career, finance, love!!!!!! wow wow wow! its kind of true abt piggy having a gd chance of gettin a govt job this yr cos I jus gotta a job as a civil servant (铁饭碗) with stable income..... hopefully its quite an ideal one which I will enjoy in and have prospect too ^^ There will be lucky stars (贵人) to help me. Love will be BETTer *wuah wuah hopefully* Health will be good too! And its also a gd yr for investment...........

Well in short its a really wonderful yr for piggies and I can sense it since the beginnin of 2010. Hopefully its coming true and piggies gonna ENJOY the best of TIGER YEAR!!!!!!!!

IRIN's 2010 plan!

ok having reflected on wat I accomplished in 2009, its nw time to set my new goals for the new year.......

1)To pay back my dad and sis for the money they lent me for my study
based on my calculations:
-I shld be able to return 80% of my loans to my dad by the end of the year
-I shld be able to return 100% of my loans to my sis in June 2010

2)To further my study in Korean language
-sign up for an advance Korean language course
-End of the course to take the exams for the next level

3)To purchase at least 1 health/life insurance
-check out the available policies and purchase one that is suitable

4)To go for holiday with my family
-save up money
-visit travelfair to find any suitable packages
-schedule dates for holiday

5)To visit Junwoo and friends in Korea
-save up money
-schedule dates
-keeping in touch with friends who are still in korea

Bascially this is what I set for myself to accomplished...... I hope I can accomplish all of them if not at least 85% of them..... Last but nt least, of cos to continue loving my family and friends........ I think that will be the MOST basic OF MY life to do so....wuahahha! All the best to myself and hope that these wishes do come true ^^

A reflections of 2009.......... (hahaha bit late to reflect)

kekeke my blog is always so outdated..... yah kind of lazy recently to type down the happening and stories........ besides u knw there's nothin exciting to talk about havin been in the BORING life in singapore....... (yah yah ppl gonna nag me abt me sayin all those bad tings abt stayin in singapore)


So here's wat I aimed to fulfil in 2009.........

1) To pay back the money I borrowed from my dad and sis for my korean study (100% or at least 80%)
-erm.... very shame on this..... didnt expect the outcome of a lost of job which resulted in lost of income..... feeling very sorry to my dad for nt returning the $
-though i was not able to return my sis in monetary value, i uses my labour (bathing diva) instead....... haha..... another few more months and i shall be able to pay back my sis all the money....

2)To find a job which I am happy in (in terms of jobscope, salary, colleagues)
-erm.... this comes a bit late.... jus gotta and settling in a new job which sounded interesting, the salary is satisfying and the colleagues seem wonderful..... not so sure if its my ideal job so I will be keeping my fingers crossed that this yr will b a smooth sailing for my career........ ^^

3)To buy myself the Samsung Omina phone
-yes, I am very happy with this new phone of mine.... though i initially set out to buy a white one bt gotten a red one instead.......... bt having using it for more than 1/2 yr the red one looked GREAT too..........

4)To obtain the Korean Language proper certification
-finally gotten a proper certification from TOPIK (Test of proficiency in Korean). I was initially aiming for level 3 of intermedian but the results was great and I passed level 4 of intermedian!!!

5)To love my family and friends
-ok, i would say I have acomplished almost 75% of wat I initially set out for myself..... though I didnt pay for anyting for the home, at least i treated my parents out for dinners etc during special occasions, visited my grandmother and to meet up with my friends....... ^^

So far, I would dare to say I have accomplished almost 75% of wat i set for myself last yr and am happy for it except I have to brush up on the returnin of loans..........wuhahahha..... Hopefully 2010 will be a more smooth sailing and exciting ones for mE! ^^
